A trick-taking card game for 2–4 players
Players may swear an oath on how many tricks they will win. The stakes rise with every oath and affect the points everyone can win.
The first pixel poem from jo,oj Pixel Poet — a studio with an owl for a name.
jo,oj Pixel Poet is a small studio making complete, honest games — me, my partner Emily, and the collaborators a project calls for.
“jo,oj” is the face of an owl — two eyes, watching. It stands for what the studio aims to be: observant and wise. “Pixel Poet” is the rest of the promise — small, atmospheric games, made with care, meant to mean something.
We make one complete game at a time. We finish it. Then we let it go, and begin the next. Wyrd is our first one.
We feel nostalgic for honest games of the past
Games you bought 10 or 20 years ago were complete and tested thoroughly. Today, you buy a game and it's unfinished and filled with bugs.
You get a day 1 patch that is as big as the game itself. Companies are selling games before they are finished, making the player pay for Alpha versions.
Besides endless bugs and hot fixes, there are deluxe additions, anniversary editions, weapons, skins, DLCs… just so they can reach for your wallet again, for a game that you've already bought.
Every game must prove its worth before asking for money.
Our demos are not marketing tricks or limited-time trials. They are complete vertical slices — offered freely, with respect for those who cannot afford the full game, and as a meaningful preview for those who can.
Gives you the real experience
A complete vertical slice — real mechanics, real polish, nothing held back.
Never expires or pressures
No countdown timers and no fear of missing out — play it on your own time.
Contains no ads or upsells
What you play is the game. Nothing is ever sold back to you mid-play.
Everything we make stands on these commitments — the three pillars.
Everything released is born whole.
“A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”
— Shigeru Miyamoto
Every choice answers to the player.
Every decision answers one question:
“Does this respect the player?”
One price. One purchase. Forever yours.
Just the radical act of selling a complete product for a fair price.
